Energy star

Time:2020-09-18 16:05:18 CTR:

         Energy Star is a self-sourced certification program initiated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Energy (DOE) for the purpose of environmental protection and energy conservation.

        EPA is the abbreviation of U.S Environmental Protection Agency (U.S Environmental Protection Agency). The main purpose is to protect people's health and protect the ecological environment-air, water and land, the environment on which we depend for survival.

        Since 2011.1.1, ENERGY STAR adopts a third-party certification system, and the certification process is as follows:
        1. Applicants sign a cooperation agreement with EPA and become EPA's Partner;
        2. The applicant sends samples to the EPA accredited laboratory for testing;
        3. EPA-accredited laboratories submit test reports and other relevant information to CB audit institutions (UL, BV, CSA, etc.) for certification;
        4. The CB agency will issue an Energy Star certificate after the approval is OK, and send the product information to the EPA;
        5. EPA regularly publishes product information to the Energy Star website every month.
        6. Applicants participate in the annual verification test sampling, and CB will sample 10% of the approved products for verification test each year.

        LED bulb test parameters: luminous efficiency, luminous flux, color temperature, color deviation, color rendering index, light intensity distribution, regional luminous flux distribution, chromaticity spatial unevenness, switching cycle, luminous flux maintenance rate, chromaticity maintenance rate, size, Electrical parameters, transient protection and noise, etc.

        Testing requirements:

       1. Bulbs larger than 10W need to be tested for life in the oven.
       2. The test cycle is at least 6000 hours, but if the LED light source has LM-80, a pre-certification can be issued after the 3000H test is passed, and the products shipped by the applicant can be affixed with the Energy Star logo.

        LED lamps test parameters: luminous efficiency, luminous flux, color temperature, color rendering index, chromaticity spatial unevenness (only for directional lamps), chromaticity maintenance rate, start-up time, rise time, power factor, shutdown power consumption, operating frequency, Noise (not required for outdoor lamps), chemical testing.

        Precautions:

       1. The light source has an LM-80 report. If it passes the TMP temperature verification test, there is no need to do a life test;
       2. Office grille lights, high-light (shed) lights and outdoor commercial road lights, and cast light fixtures are not recognized by Energy Star;
       3. Key products such as: LED downlights, directional lights, cabinet lights, etc.; Due to the wide variety of lamps, contact engineers directly for products that are uncertain.
