The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has released the final version of the Energy Star Specification for lamps and lanterns version 2.0. The new specification and all requirements will take effect on June 1, 2016.
1. Main time points:
June 1, 2016: The effective date of version 2.0 of the fixture. All lamps must be re-certified before June 1, 2016, otherwise they will not appear on the Energy Star Qualified Product List (QPL).
December 1, 2015: After December 1, 2015, all lamps must be tested and evaluated in accordance with the lamp version 2.0. Before December 1, 2015, the laboratory certification can use version 1.2 or version 2.0.
2. Main changes:
A, a new category has been added
B, expand the scope of household lamps
C, reduced test samples
D, to make the requirements of the ENERGY STAR specification for lamps and lanterns version 2.0 more reasonable
E, improve the light efficiency of directional products
