DLC released the latest version of technical specifications V3.1

DLC (Design Lighting Consortium, American Lighting Design Alliance) officially announced and implemented the latest technical specification V3.1 version (Technical Requirements Table V3.1).
Compared with the old version of the specification, the latest version of V3.1 has four changes worth paying attention to.
Variation 1
The category of "LED replacement parts with E39 spiral lamp caps" is added. According to the type of replacement finished lamps, the built-in power supply (Type B) and the external power supply (Type C), this large category contains a total of 13 different replacement parts. However, LED replacement parts (Type A) that are directly compatible with HID ballasts are not within the scope of this category. This category is not yet able to apply for the DLC Premium premium version.
Variation 2
According to the number of tubes tested in the lamp panel, the scope of approval of LED tubes has been expanded. Both 1.2-meter lamps and 0.6-meter lamps are allowed to be used in the lamp panel with 2, 3, and 4 lamps.
Variation 3
In the category of replacement parts for indoor luminaires, Direct Linear Ambient Luminaires have been added. Such replacement parts are not allowed to have lamp holders or pins.
Variation 4
In the category of outdoor lamps, side-emitting wall lamps (Non-Cutoff and Semi-Cutoff) are added, and the calculation of luminous efficiency has changed. The luminous flux is based on the lumens of 0°-90°, and the evaluation of the area lumens percentage is based on 0° -90° lumens shall prevail.
DLC certification expands the scope of certification of LED tubes based on the number of tubes tested in the lamp panel.
