Common test items:
1) Anti-ultraviolet light test:
After 720 hours of alternating arc and rain, the elongation and tensile strength of the sample before and after the test should not be less than 80% of the measured value of the untested sample. This test is suitable for "W" outdoor-grade wires and cables (including single-wire, Sheath, parallel lines).
2) Oil immersion test
The sample is immersed in an environment of a certain temperature, specific oil quality, and a certain period of time. After immersion, the strength and elongation of the sample should be maintained at a certain percentage of the test value of the sample before immersion.
3) Insulation tightness test
There are two test methods for the tightness of the single conductor insulation of the holiday light line and the tightness of the overall structure of the parallel conductor insulation. Sheathed cables do not have this requirement. For example: XTW line, first intercept a section of 11-inch long wire, cut the middle insulation longitudinally to form a single-conductor wire structure, just refer to the CXTW line.
4) Surface printing firmness test
It is divided into fastness test before and after aging. Both the production line test and the UL field test use the pre-aging test. And the sample delivery test adopts the post-aging test.
The briquette load is 450g, the end face is 25×50mm, and the test surface is flannel. Perform three complete back-and-forth rubbing on the printing surface to check whether the printing is peeling off.
5) Tensile test
For sheathed cables such as 18AWG and 17AWG power extension cords, it can be ensured that the inner core wires should not be disconnected after bearing the specified load for 1 minute.
6) Insulation resistance of sheath surface
For a sheathed wire with a clean surface, apply a 500V DC voltage between two copper foil electrodes 0.5 inches apart for 1 minute, and the insulation resistance should be greater than 100M.
Standards based on wire and cable inspection:
1) GB12972 mine-used rubber sheathed flexible cable;
2) GB12528.1 Cables (wires) for railway rolling stock with AC rated voltage of 3KV and below; JB8145 cables (wires) for rolling stock with AC rated voltage of 3KV and below;
3) GB5013 rubber insulated electric cables with rated voltages of 450/750V and below; JB8735 rubber insulated cords and flexible cables with rated voltages of 450/750V and below;
4) GB5023 PVC insulated cables, wires and flexible cords with rated voltages of 450/750V and below.
