GMPC Chinese name Good Manufacturing Practice for Cosmetics
GMP (GMP Good Manufacturing Practice) is Good Manufacturing Practice, which was first promulgated by the US Congress in 1963 in order to regulate the production of drugs. This is also the world's first GMP. Because GMP is very effective in regulating the production of medicines, improving the quality of medicines, and ensuring the safety of medicines, the FDA is the United States Food, and the Drug Administration promulgated food GMP in 1980 to regulate food production. In 1992, the FDA promulgated the cosmetics GMP guidelines to guide cosmetic manufacturers to regulate the production of their cosmetics, so as to ensure the hygiene and safety of cosmetics. In order to ensure that cosmetics produced and sold in its territory (including imported from outside the EU) will not cause harm to consumers’ health, the European Union promulgated the Cosmetics Directive 76/768/EE on July 26, 1976, in February 2003. The latest version of this directive (the seventh edition) was promulgated on the 27th. The latest directive requires factories that produce cosmetics to comply with good operating practices. The focus is on ensuring the safety and hygiene of the cosmetics production process and preventing foreign bodies, poisons, and microorganisms from contaminating products.
Cosmetics sold in the US and EU markets must comply with the US Federal Cosmetics Regulations or EU Cosmetics Directives-GMPC is called Guideline for Good Manufacture Practice of Cosmetic Products in Chinese, to ensure normal use by consumers After the health.
Advantages of implementing GMPC:
Ensure product safety;
improve product quality;
Eliminate dangerous accidents;
Reduce the risk of injury or death caused by the product to consumers;
Reduce the risk of public recycling of products;
Comply with laws and trade standards;
Good working environment;
Effective cost control and international recognition;
Enhance product competitiveness;
Effective product traceability.
Five parts of GMPC:
Quality system, procurement, production, subcontract production and quality management.
The main content of GMPC:
People
Only those who have passed the health check can be engaged in the production of cosmetics, and the employees must have good personal hygiene and habits. All employees must be trained in skills and hygiene.
Plant and facilities
Whether it is the design of the workshop, the selection of building materials, the design and installation of the production line, and the treatment of waste and sewage, appropriate precautions must be taken to prevent potential hazards from external pollutants. The structure is reasonable to avoid cross-contamination, keep clean, and have good hand washing and toilet facilities.
Sanitation and pest control
Strict daily cleaning and disinfection of workshops, equipment and tools. Develop a cleaning and disinfection plan and keep work records. Develop and implement a pest control plan, and there must be no animals or pests in the plant area.
equipment
All equipment and utensils in the factory, their design, materials and manufacturing techniques must be convenient for adequate cleaning and proper maintenance. The seams that touch the surface of the product must be smooth.
Processing control
All operations of feeding, inspection, processing, packaging and storage of cosmetics must be carried out in strict accordance with the requirements to ensure the hygiene and safety of the products.
QC/QA (Quality Control and Quality Assurance) must establish inspection and test plans from raw materials to finished products, the testing methods are correct, all instruments must be in a good calibration state, and there is a procedural document and record management system. Internal audit is an effective tool to test whether GMP is effectively implemented. Internal audits must be conducted at least once a year.
Product traceability and recycling
All finished products must be traceable to the raw materials used. Establish product recycling procedures, conduct recycling simulations and keep records every year. In short, GMPC is a specific regulation on the factory equipment, environment, personnel, hygiene management/control and other software and hardware of the manufacturer based on the characteristics of cosmetics.
